OBEX is really called object exchange. Bluetooth bases its specification on the infrared associations's OBEX standards. This just defines a way to send data ojects such as files, business cards, and such over a wireless link. You do this everytime you exchange data between palms or ipaqs or whatever. Only with Bluetooth you don't have to line up the ir ports.
